Privacy Policy

2. Core Principle: Local Data Processing

Marcus'Mood processes all data exclusively and locally on your device. No personal data is transmitted to the provider's servers or to third parties (with the exception of the optional AI analysis feature, see Section 5).

3. What Data is Processed?

The app stores the following data exclusively on your device:

  • ·Mood entries: Selected emotions, intensity values, timestamps, optional notes.
  • ·MoodCards assessments: Self-assessments and ratings.
  • ·PLEASE factors: Information on sleep, self-care, movement, substances and mood.
  • ·Settings: Theme, font size, favourites, activated emotions, notification settings.
  • ·Skill data: Custom skills, skill chains and scenarios.

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

4. Storage Technologies

The app uses exclusively local storage technologies:

  • ·localStorage: For synchronous UI settings (theme, font size).
  • ·IndexedDB (localforage): For app data (mood history, assessments, skill data).
  • ·Secure Storage (Android): For sensitive data such as API keys (encrypted in the Android Keystore).

No cookies are used for tracking or advertising.

5. Optional AI Analysis (Premium Feature)

If you activate the optional AI analysis feature, selected mood data is transmitted to the Google Gemini API. This only occurs with your explicit consent.

Third-country transfer: Data is transmitted to servers of Google LLC in the USA on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Push Notifications

Where the app uses local notifications, these are generated exclusively on your device. No external push service is used.

7. Data Export and Import

The app offers an export function (JSON format) and an import function. Exported files and PDF reports are stored locally on your device.

8. No Data Collection by the Provider

The provider does not collect, store or process any personal data of users.

  • ·No registration or account creation required.
  • ·No analytics or tracking tools (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics or similar).
  • ·No advertising and no ad networks.
  • ·No sharing of data with third parties (except when AI feature is enabled).
  • ·No server-side storage of usage data.
9. App Store Data Processing

When installing via Google Play Store, Google processes data in accordance with its privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

10. Your Rights (Art. 15–22 GDPR)
  • ·Right of access (Art. 15): All data is viewable directly in the app.
  • ·Right to rectification (Art. 16): Entries can be edited in the app.
  • ·Right to erasure (Art. 17): Entries can be deleted in the app settings.
  • ·Right to data portability (Art. 20): Via the JSON export function.
  • ·Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7 para. 3): At any time by deactivating the AI feature or uninstalling the app.

11. Data Security
  • ·Exclusively local storage, no network transmission (except optional AI feature).
  • ·Sensitive data (API keys) is stored in the encrypted Android Keystore on Android devices.
  • ·The app does not require special device permissions (no camera, contacts or location access).
12. Special Categories of Personal Data

Mood tracking data may allow inferences about health status (Art. 9 GDPR). Legal basis: Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a GDPR. Data is processed exclusively locally.

13. Minors

The app is intended for persons aged 16 and over. Persons under 16 require the consent of a parent or guardian pursuant to Art. 8 GDPR.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated when app functionality changes. The current version is available in the app under "About Marcus'Mood".
